The Esterházy Castle in Pápa houses a collection of restored paintings of the family over the centuries, the “Hall of the Ancestors”. During the restoration, the original layer was always reconstructed, so that it was placed on top of the paintings. In the process, the original condition and the reconstruction process were digitised. Eight of these paintings serve as markers for our ViTOM, augmented reality application. By ‘rubbing’ the mobile phone, the digitised layer painted on top can be seen. The “then and now” function allows you to see the Chapel of the Castle and the Hall of the Nobility in 1927 and its current state in 3 images.
